Question:
Has anyone had these, how have they worked. What type doctor do you go to?
My allergist does not feel they work.
Answer:
The shots are anti-inflammation steroids. They they only work if you have
the right symptoms. They are a temporary fix. There are serious problems
with long term use. Your doctor's reluctance is understandable, but the shots can be beneficial
in some cases: such as when you are overwhelmed and need good health
to get back on your diet. If your allergy specialist doesn't want to give
them, try an ENTologist (Ear-Nose-Throat specialist).
Symptomatic relief is no substitute for finding your diet and sticking to
it. This gets easier with practice.
If you're speaking of regular allergy shots, there aren't any for food
allergies. If you're speaking of Xolair, it's just being tested for food allergies.
