Question:
I just sent an email to my coordinator at Penn in Phila asking her if she had
any objections to me getting a flu shot. She replied by all means get it, so I
will tomorrow. I got a pneumonia vaccination 2 years ago so I do not think it
is time for that yet but I will ask.
On a different note I used to be able to take claritin for allergies but not
since being immune suppressed. I have yet to find anything that is agreeable
with my tx team that works. Anyone have any ideas I can run by them?
Answer:
I was given the Flonase to use for allergies, but it gave me
headaches, so just 3 weeks ago I called my coordinator and asked and she
talked to the hepatologist and he said I could use Zyrtec. It does seem to
help. I am 10 months out, and my nephrologist wants me to have a flu shot. We get
them free at work, so I'm signed up for one. I never found a prescription med that worked for me, but OTC Nasalcrom works
great. Both my surgeon and nephrologist approved Nasalcrom for me. Of course every center is different, and maybe it's because you have a liver
transplant, but my husband just got a prescription for Claritin from his
transplant doctor. Does this sound wrong to anybody?
