Question:
I think I have finally found the reason behind all of my sinus problems,
ALLERGIES. Several of them; dog, dust, cat, tall weeds, corn pollen, pine,
hardwood trees, bird, and one mold ( can't remember name of it ). Living in
Upstate NY and owning a dog and cat, that I can not part with, doesn't help.
I will be getting allergy shots every week for up to 6 months. Then if there
is no improvement in symptoms or how my meds work, I will have to return to
the ENT surgeon. I hope to stay antibiotic free through the fall, winter and
spring months. If I can go that long, it will be wonderful, cause I rarely
have infections in the summer. We traced all the problems starting back to the time we got our Labrador
Retriever. Before her, my symptoms were rather mild. She is outside most of
the day during the summer and inside all day except to do her business the
other times of the year. Guess that is why I am so messed up during the
winter. She sleeps in her crate in the living room. Dog was my major allergy
then came dust and bird. Cat was actually a mild allergy. He sleeps with my
daughter. I just can not part with these animals; they are like my children,
only they listen! HAHA!!
Answer:
Never allow your pets inside your bedroom and NEVER on your bed. That
will help some since you spend a large portion of time in there.
Consider an air purifier. Also, you can wash your animals weekly and that will also help. I
believe there is a special shampoo you can use that will help reduce
the dander and that's what you are most likely allergic to. You might
consider removing carpet if you have any - especially in your bedroom.
We took all of ours up and it did help.
