Question:
Coffee fights allergies ?
Answer:
Coffee has been reported to relief asthma in a few people and actually
to reduce ADHD symptoms for a small subpopulation of those with ADHD.
It seems to me that the cases reported are small and because of that
and perhaps economic reasons (like a prescription medicine can make
more money for a manufacturer than coffee) that these cases are often
overlooked. Actually, the reason is that caffeine (the drug in coffee) has a lot
of side effects in comparison with its benefits for asthma. The basic
thing is that the prescription medications do the job better. Also, note that there is some scepticism about the findings in the
scientific community. Re-read the second half of the article and you
will notice that not everybody is impressed.
Warning on this one...lots of people are allergic to coffee. I get
headaches of such intensity that they approach migraine when drinking
coffee, even if it's decaffeinated. (Other caffeine sources seem to
be safe for me.) I'd hate to see what would happen if I tried to
drink coffee to relieve my asthma!
If coffee really relieved asthma I would breathe better than anyone in the
world, LOL. I know it helps a bit, but I wouldnt say it relieved any symptoms,
in my experience anyway.
Life is uncertain - eat dessert first. hi drinking hof coffee will prevent you from weezing back coffee with
little sugar. i have been drinking for approx 2 years and thats all i
drink besides water. coffe does not fight allergies i was told when i went home from the
hospital that black hot coffee helps so you dont weeze i drink it all
the time it take s a litte getting used to but its good let me know how
you do. This is nothing new. For decades, asthmatics have been told to drink a
large, strong coffee to relieve asthma symptoms in a pinch (like when caught
without the inhaler on hand). I would think even tea would work, perhaps
better in equivalent quantity, because tea apparently contains some actual
theophyline in addition to the caffeine itself. I'm only a mild asthmatic
myself -- symptoms only when exercising during hay fever season -- but I
find it helps. Anything containing "guarana" is the same, the active
ingredient guaranine being just another name for caffeine.
