Question:
At present I'm researching the best, i.e. most effective and painless
suicide method, because I would appear to be at least 80% of the way to
Total Allergy Syndrome, which has developed over the last decade. T.A.S. is
supposedly a form of anorexia, and this at least fits because I was tested
for allergy and apparently have none. I've done all the exclusion diets,
tried cutting out microwavd food, lowering my consumption of acid-producing
food, or sugars, etc, and various combinations of all these, but I'm no
better off. I'm really at my wits end, and feel constantly hungry, and
though I'm supposed to go back and do my final semester at university in
London, I just can't get ti together to do the 3 essays due in 10 days,
because all I can see is that my life is getting less and less practical,
eating not being an optional thing, so what's the point of even doing
anything constructive............... Anyone know a way out of this?
Answer:
If you have not done so already, you might want to join some of the mailing
lists for people with multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), also know as
"Total Allergy Syndrome." Here's the subscription information:
There are several mailing lists for people who have multiple chemical
sensitivity (MCS) or chemical injury (CI). Mailing lists are either
moderated or unmoderated. Messages (or "posts") sent to moderated lists are
reviewed by someone before they are distributed to the whole list.
Depending on the frequency with which this is done, it could take several
hours or several days for your message to be distributed. Messages sent to
unmoderated lists usually are distributed to the whole list within a few
minutes. Moderated lists usually have fewer flames, flame-wars, and spam.
Unmoderated lists are usually more spontaneous and conversational.
There are currently no websites for people who have multiple chemical
sensitivity (MCS) or chemical injury (CI), although some of people who post
at the alt.med.allergy and alt.support.food-allergies websites have
multiple chemical sensitivity.
Here are the four mailing lists:
1) CHEMICAL-ILLNET:
This is a moderated list that has 335 subscribers (as of 1/1/00). List
archives can be searched using an online (i.e., Web) search screen.
Description: CHEMICAL-ILLNET is an internet community where the chemically
ill, their friends, family and loved ones can come to gather information,
support, and learn how they can become pro-actively involved in advocating

vast majority of our members are chemically ill or injured and deal with
varying degrees of disability on a daily basis.
