Question:
Now my Doc has tried me on 2 nasal sprays since this started (3 months),
well since he finaly took notice of how bad it was. Thing is i had a good
initial reactions to both, but they both seemed to tail off in their
effiacy. And now after 2 months on the second (Flixonase) it has pretty much
stoped working at all.
Also it seems not to matter whether I am inside, in bed, or in a feild full
of pollen, my rhinitus & PND stay fairly level.
I am however starting to consider that this may all be down to a food alergy
or an food intolerance. And i dont know what to do next. I have tried
cutting some obvious things from my diet with little success, but being a
veggie if i cut out wheat and dairy im left with next to feck all to eat :-(
So i am considering getting food allergy or intolerance testing done, but i
dont know which i should go for, or if there is much difference.
Any advice or sugestings would be very welcome. And thanks for reading, if
any of you made it this far ;-)
Answer:
if you are allergic to some foods or ingredients in your food,
you should be getting a re-action of some kind. Years ago, I got a sore throat from eating honeydew melon. It felt like
i had a cut in my throat.
Iodine re-action- I feel like I am paralized, my legs will not hold me
to stand on.
Some of these are in Meds today. My MD has these written on my medical
record now. No testing was done.
Listen to your body- sometimes you will get a re-action within a half
hour, or in a day, or a rash that is itchy.
You should see an ENT. The first thing to find out is if you indeed
have chronic sinusitis. If you do, then that needs to be treated. It
may be too far gone to heal on its own, even if the offending allergen
is discovered and removed. Some exciting news on anosmia.
They have found that there are living stem cells in the area where the
olfactory nerve endings are located.
In theory then the smell organ can regenerate. But it may require daily "exercise" to grow the new nerves. Try practicing
with common odors at least 15 minutes at a time.
